TBGI Corporate Development

TBGI was incorporated in July 1995, and a 25-year lease agreement was executed with Clark Development Corporation (CDC) for the use of land in CDC zone premises. The company commenced commercial operation of its satellite broadcast in the first half of 1996.

The following chronology of events provides a perspective of how TBGI evolved from a video broadcasting company to a multi-platform data, communications, and video enterprise.

• 1995 > Registered with the SEC on July 14, 1995
• Registered with Clark Special Economic Zone
• Signed contract for uplink of its first TV channel network
• 1996 > Started uplink service with local TV channel
• 1997 > Republic Act 8657 filed in Congress
• TBGI franchise passed by the House of Representatives and Senate on Feb 6
• TBGI franchise lapsed/enacted into law on June 22, 1998
• 1999 > NTC issued Provisional Authority to Operate to TBGI
  • Transferred satellite service to Mabuhay Satellite Aguila 2
  • Signed link up agreement with FICAP for more than 300 local cable operators
• 2000 > Signed uplink agreement with Zoom TV / CNTV
• Signed uplink agreement with two foreign TV channels
• NTC issued registration of TBGI as Value Added Services provider
• 2001 >Acquired equipment from Andrew, Harmonics, and General Instruments
  • NTC issued Radio station license to TBGI
• 2002 > Acquired equipment from US Data Equipment Integration Labs

  • Signed joint venture agreement with CMN Radio
  • Clark Development Corp issued Certificate of Registration and Tax Exemption
  • Bandwidth supply agreements with Reach
  • Increase TBGI capital to P150 million with Securities & Exchange Commission
  • Rolled out 26 remote sites for provincial schools as anchor clients
  • NTC issued Provisional Authority to operate and maintain an International Internet Exchange Service Nodes in Metro Manila, Clark Special Economic Zone, and Angeles City
